Do you have a super-plant?

I do.

This hibiscus has been with me for more than ten years. I bought it since it was small.

It slowly grew well in a pot and produced beautiful yellow flowers. But then, about four years ago, the plant was attacked by ants and a handful of other bugs and dying.

I had to chop it off to two inches from the ground because I didn't have the heart to throw it away.

When we moved to our new place, I decided to take it with me. However, I didn't plant it in the right spot. It grew weaker for almost a year. When we moved it to the side of the house, still nothing happened.

About two months ago, my husband moved it to a larger site with plenty of light. Unfortunately, all leaves turned yellow within two days. We thought we might lose this beautiful plant. But then, something happened. The plant didn't give up but kept fighting. It becomes more robust. It shook its yellow leaves to the ground, and eventually, we saw young green leaves replacing the old ones.

In less than a week, we started seeing flower buds. And we named the plant 'Lazarus.'

The plant is growing well with many flowers on it.

Lesson from it:

We will face many difficulties in our lives but don't give up. Like the hibiscus, it keeps fighting and fighting because one day, everything might pay off.

Magnolia is among the flowers I’ve admired.

The tree is tall and sturdy. Its flowers are large (bigger than my palm) and produced singly at or near the tips of branches. It has a subtly sweet and relaxing aroma which becomes noticeable when one tree has an abundance of flowers.

The Magnolia family is thought by many botanists to be the most primitive of the flowering plant families (source: http://www.hort.cornell.edu/)

QOTD: What’s your favorite flower?

A blackout day in my housing complex.

The estimation was between 8 AM to 5 PM, but the actual was from 10 AM - 2 PM. It was shorter than the estimation, but I depended on Wi-Fi for doing some researches for my 3rd novel.

It turned out okay. I managed to write for four hours without feeling a need to check my IG or my FB.
